Who?

This week I interviewed Conrad Stone. He immediately caught my attention with his Dodgers bomber jacket and elegant stride. I really loved his simple yet tasteful style and wanted to learn more about his look! He is an English major and bookworm! He also loves to buy most of his clothes second-hand, thrifting and from eBay, which explains his classic & eclectic style!

What's Your Vibe ?

I was lucky enough to ask Conrad some questions diving into his style, his personal favs, and his sources for inspiration. 

Roxie : "Who are your style icons at the moment?"

    Conrad : "My style icons would be Skepta, Johan Cruyff, he's a dutch football player, and the lead singer of the band The Verve, Richard Ashcroft. "

Roxie : "Do you have any favorite brands ?" 

    Conrad : " I really like supreme. I like to buy from Dickies, Levis and Vans. But there are also a few brands I don't buy but like their styles like Number (N)ine, Undercover, and CDG. 

Roxie : "What is your favorite place to shop" 

    Conrad : "My number one place to shop has always been eBay" 

Roxie : "Do you have a holy grail thrift item?"   

    Conrad : "I honestly think I lost it, but my holy grail thrift item is this purple triple-collared Joy Division Sweater for their album "Unknown Pleasures". I like it because it looks super old and warm and I had never seen a Purple merch sweater for that album which is kinda cool. Even if it's not authentic and someone printed it themselves, it's definitely one of my favorite things I picked up." 

    

   

Roxie : "Do you have any fashion icks?" 

    Conrad : " Not gonna lie, I have alot of fashion icks. But I'll keep it simple and try not to be too much of a hater, but I really do not like skinny jeans or tapered pants in general." 

Roxie : "If you have any knowledge of Runway, is there a dream fashion show you'd want to attend" 

    Conrad : " I don't follow fashion very closely but I think it would be cool to attend the Virgil Louis Vuitton show. They had a really beautiful and colorful runway in Paris and Tyler the Creator and Playboi Carti walked in it and they were playing hip hop the whole time. I think that would be a fun one to go to."

Weekly Moodboard !

Conrad told me that his inspiration for his outfit was "American", so I decided to make a mood board roughly around this theme. His style definitely was simple and classic so the theme of this moodboard is "Twisted Americana". Ralph Lauren is very big on the classics and is a well-known American Brand which I identify as a big marker for iconic American fashion, so I have a photo from one of their campaigns. I also included some American staples like the Dr. Marten Loafers, and the Polo Bomber. For a some modern inspiration, I added some timeless classics with an elevated element. The fitted cap styled with black-on-black trousers is a fun way to incorporate a modern element into the outfit. Also, the dark wash denim is trending so that is a must to include for this weeks inspo.
